Christopher Bo Milan
holds university degrees or certificates in Massage and Holistic Health,
Nutrition, Psychology, and Environmental Health. Additionally, he has done
two years of doctoral work in Leadership Studies with emphasis on Personal
Development. He has taught over 2000 massage and personal development classes
professionally for more than twenty years, throughout San Diego County and
Hawaii. He practices and teaches bringing heart, integrity and intelligence
to this work, resulting in more enjoyable and useful classes and better
healers. Numerous clients repeatedly praise Mr. Milan’s graduates as having
skills superior to other practitioners. Our instructors are exceptional and
loved by students.
Testimonials and comments from students: · This
is a great school. I learned a lot, and had a wonderful time. · Very
comprehensive – everything needed to succeed in massage. · The
teaching style is easy to follow, making learning easy. · Comprehensive
instruction of all areas: mental preparedness, sensitivity to client and
practitioner’s needs, philosophy of touch, in addition to posture and
techniques, is especially valuable. · I
feel very confident about applying the techniques I have learned. Hats off to
a great program and teachers! Consistency and Integration: Most classes are scheduled weekday
evenings and weekend days, with high consistency for your scheduling ease.
This works better than having many short topics spread out widely in
scheduling times, because your training is better integrated and it helps
keep your costs down remarkably. Classes are off for one month summer holiday
early August through early September, and there is time off for the winter
holidays – these are the best times to plan extra long
vacations, though we always do our best to accommodate work and family needs.
All
classes count toward the HHP. You
may start with either Level 1A or 1B, or any class without pre-requisites. PROGRAM AND COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Massage
Technician: $495/545 per level 1 100 credit hour class, minus applicable
discounts. Massage
Therapist 500 credit hours: As low as $3960 total at current tuition,
utilizing applicable discounts. Holistic
Health Practitioner additional 500 credit hours with externship: Only $4160 –
4950 additional (only $8120-8910 total at current tuition for 1000 credit
hours, depending on externship option, including applicable discounts).
Externships are usually paid, depending on the student’s individual
arrangements with employers/mentors, thus adding even more affordability to
our program. Easy
payment plans: No requirement to pay up front except for the class you are
beginning! First Level 1 class is only $495/545, depending on applicable
discount. A standard one time registration of $100 is all that is required to
be eligible for the low current tuition of $9.90 per credit hour for all
other classes, except rare special elective seminars. (The unregistered
general public rate is $1 more per credit hour.) No
obligations beyond the quarter, no interest charged. Simple and clear. If a
student wishes to further split any class tuition payment and pay half of it
midway through a class, just add 10%, or the 10% fee is waived if taking 200
or more hours in the quarter. Look
on the schedule and news page for various current discounts which further
reduce the low costs. If
you have looked elsewhere, you know that this is by far the best value and
fairest approach available. Books:
Approximately $200-250 per 500 hours of program. Many free provided handouts
greatly reduce book costs. Massage
Tables: $400-950 for set. You are responsible for your own linens and table,
though alternatives are available until you get your table. To maximize your
learning, plan on getting your table set sooner rather than later in your
program. It is the essential tool for massage, and a good one will last you
for decades. Transcript/certificate:
nominal fee of $15 per issuance. *Because
last minute registrations cause problems, previous and current students
registering less than 5 days prior to first day of class results in 5% higher
late tuition. New students are exempted from this policy for their first
class as a courtesy. Optional
externship program fees: $2 per credit hour. *Special
Limited Time Offer: No Transfer Fee
for the first 100 hours of past learning that is applicable to our program
(one time for new transfer students). Transfer students should meet with the director
to discuss their eligibility and to design their studies to best suit their
individual desires and goals. Standard transfer fees: $1 per hour, unless
waived during special offers – check the current news and schedule page. Refund
Policy: Cancellations need to be made in writing, and result in prorated
refund for class hours remaining minus $50 class deposit/processing fee. The
$100 one-time registration is non-refundable.
The student has a right to a full refund of all charges less the
amount of $100 for the registration fee if he/she cancels enrollment prior to
or on the first day of instruction. In addition, the student may withdraw
from a course after instruction has started and receive a pro rata refund
(minus $50 processing fee per class) for the unused portion of the tuition
and other refundable charges if the student has completed 60% or less of the
scheduled class instruction. For example if a student withdraws at the 50%
point of a 100 credit hour $990 course, the refund would be $990 x .50
portion of the class paid for but not attended = $495 - $50 processing fee =
$445 refund. Cancellations or withdrawals require a written notice mailed to
C. Bo Milan, Director, Natural Success School of Holistics,
1106 2nd St. #630, Encinitas, CA, 92024. Refunds will be effective
on the date notice is received, and mailed within 30 days of the cancellation
or withdrawal or charge, whichever is later. Note
that according to state policy non-residents of California and students whose
costs are paid by a third party are not eligible for protection or recovery
from the student tuition recovery fund. Questions
or problems should always be first addressed to the director of the school,
C. Bo Milan, by calling (760) 635-1085, or in writing to him at 1106 2nd
St. #630, Encinitas, CA 92024. Any questions or problems concerning this
school which have not been satisfactorily answered or resolved by the school
should be directed to the bureau for private postsecondary education, P.O.
Box 980818, West Sacramento, CA 95798-0818. Instructors Primary
Instructor: Christopher Bo Milan, HHP, B.Sc. is program founder and director
with extensive teaching experience. He holds university degrees or

Environmental Health. Additionally, he has done two years of doctoral work in
Leadership Studies with emphasis on Personal Development. He has taught over
2000 massage and personal development classes professionally for more than
twenty years, throughout San Diego County and Hawaii. His high level of
teaching skills and fun style make for enjoyable classes and superbly skilled
graduates. Special Guest Instructors: Rebecca
Garrett-Brown RN, MS, has superb credentials in Nursing as well as a love of
Holistic Health and teaching. Ashley
Lanahan, L.Ac., has excellent knowledge of Eastern healing modalities
including Acupressure. Additional Information and Policies
Our
classes are experiences of nurturing community – places to be yourself and
respectful of others. Students are expected to be and behave as mutually
caring and cooperative adults. In all activities, students should take care
of themselves well, and refrain from possibly injurious action to themselves
or others. Unreasonable non-cooperation, disrespect, disruption, harassment,
or failure to meet class requirements are grounds for dismissal at the
instructor’s and director’s discretion. Refund policy applies. This is indeed
rare, but needs to be clear for the protection of the high quality of everyone’s
experiences in our classes. Institutional
Information: The Natural Success School of Holistics
is a legitimate vocational college, fully state licensed/approved, and
registered with the national certification exam board as an institution
training professionals and granting certificates in massage and holistic
health. These are overwhelmingly the two standards used for licensing in this
field. Please note that purchased private accreditations are not required for
licensing and national certification. Student
evaluation is based on 1) The ability to demonstrate safe application of
techniques, 2) Constructive attendance of minimum 80 percent of scheduled
class hours, plus the missing hours made up through documented flexible
practice time, and 3) Where applicable, minimum 70% score on written
examinations covering key concepts taught. All
class hours are based on 50 minute standard academic hours. Minimum class
size: 8-12 at Director’s discretion. Attendance:
Minimum 80 percent of scheduled class hours, plus the missing hours made up
through documented flexible practice time. Personal
modesty is respected in all classes. Please be clear in taking care of and
communicating yours, as well as respecting others. Records
are retained for a minimum of five years after the student has graduated. This
institution does not offer English as a second language instruction. Work
referrals from inquiring employers are generally announced in advanced
classes. This
catalog is in effect through July 1, 2011. The
tuition rate for classes taken during this catalog period is as stated for
registered students. Students
taking less than 100 hours per quarter continuously are considered occasional
students who may take classes casually at their leisure. Frequently
Asked Questions: “Could you explain licensing levels and
requirements?” In most
local cities 500 or 1000 hours of training has been required to practice
independently, and 100-200 hours of training may make a student employable by
a chiropractic office, spa, etc. with approved supervision. Some students
choose to do that and earn while continuing to learn. The 1000 hour Holistic
Health Practitioner has the most freedom in scope of practice, and the
easiest licensing requirements where applicable. More education results in
more respect and ease. California has a new statewide voluntary certification
at 500 hours, and for a number of years at a 250 hour level, effective
September 2009. 500+ hours is the most common standard for massage therapy
nationally. Licensing standards and educational programs vary and change, so
students should request licensing or transfer information
directly from the jurisdiction or institution of their choice who will
determine eligibility, and students are responsible for further education,
costs and other requirements as needed or desired. “What is the availability of work?” Work in
this field varies very widely, is often part time and/or partially
self-employed, and some people take classes for personal use only, thus
making it impossible to reasonably quantify in a way that makes sense.
Prospective students are encouraged to directly explore want ads, and talk to
employers and practitioners who match your interests most. While we are very fair and consistent in practice, published
information (including any errors) does not constitute an agreement nor contract, and
information herein is subject to change without notice. For answers to any questions you may
